Pictorial supplement to recent Lower Westheimer restaurants news and rumors, and a few irreverent accompanying observations

THE LONG WAIT FOR THE ADVENT OF THE BISKIT JUNKIES
TO RESURRECT MANGO'S AND RESTORE IT
TO ITS FORMER GLORY

The sole surviving junkie skull from the Mango period

TERMINOLOGICAL INTERJECTION: ATTEMPT AT A REVISION
irreverent  / adjective / ir·rev·er·ent / əˈrev(ə)rənt / demonstrating a lack of due deference for people or things that are generally paid obeisance, or at least taken as seriously as they (or some others) think they deserve, if not more so.

AND NOW HOME-LESS LOT

Georges Bistro and adjoining lot that demolition of a vintage residence in 2015
left homeless, but anything but hopeless
ON THE RADAR
BUT NOT YET MOST ANTICIPATED [MAYBE-NEVER] OPENING
Ownership change reported

point where Westheimer meets California in Montrose

- have the  equivalent of Lower Westheimer frontage

MANGIA LA PIZZA, OR ELSE...

If you hadn't seen her in the Houston Press, you wouldn't have any idea
that a mean-looking nonna rules to roost here

¡Ya basta con la pasta! Mangia la Pizza ...
è peccato non obbedire a tua nonna

NON-ST. MARK'S (1658)
MOVES TO MAKE SOME FOODIE NEWS

Skip the sermon for the salmon;
and go for lamb and lobster in the nave.

Suggested menu innovation tagline: Bass for Brunch

The long-since secularized sanctuary portal anno 1658: Not quite.
The church wasn't that old prior to the transubstantiation of  its inner essence, but the four digits are the code that will take motorists cruising Westheimer in search of deliverance from pangs of cravings to culinary nirvana
Address of choice for premium in-town indulgences at commensurate pain to the pocket-book:
Westheimer Road at 1658
WHETHER YOU WANNA BE ON THE GRANGE OR IN AN AGAVE FIELD -
THE OUT-OF-YOUR-TOWN EXPERIENCE IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER.
TRADE THE TRAVAILS OF TRAVEL FOR TORTILLA AND TEQUILA

Welcome the where the tequila hops grow

And where there is an agave field, the final product, can't be far.

Pistolero's - Bad Ass Bloody Mary promotion (toned-down missive)
That bloody Pistolero - He too, is talking Bass, not to mention invoking the  name of  Mary.
... Or the cacti

And while we are on the topic of brown arid fields,
something has been sprouting on the Cat Doc's sideyard

PRE-NEWS: SOON TO BE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED RESTAURANT
WILL FILL THE GAP BETWEEN CAT DOC AND INDIKA

AND SOME NON-NEWS, FOR GOOD MEASURE
(NOT A DEVELOPING STORY)

The Motor Doc on Commonwealth still hasn't gotten his truck license plate renewed. And that's anything but an unsubstantiated allegation. Here is the proof.

Doc's Motorworks: Green car on a stick, green beer for Saint Pat's,
no green light for taking the vintage truck for a spin.
