Blue Barrel Tagger Attack & Talk of Town Redemption

The blue-barreled former burger joint on Richmond at Mandell Park has been tagged.

Lucky Burger with new face - No Smiley

Although it was reported more than a year ago that the iconic former home of the Lucky Burger would get a new and different life as an Asian drive-thru food spot -- Banh Mi -- the uniquely-shaped property, situated in the parking lot of nearby Revelry on Richmond, has been sitting ugly behind wire fencing. Some interior demolishing was done after the burger operation ceased, but no renovation activity has visibly take place for months (unless it's been well-hidden behind the brown paper in the windows).

In a recent interview with the HBJ, a representative of the property owner said that his company was committed to preserving the iconic building.

TALK OF TOWN - WHERE IS THE BEEF?

Meanwhile, down the road, the former windowless-for-a-reason shack of Talk-of-Town III fame (or infamy) may see revival as something else. A TABC notice has been posted at the door of the former feast-for-the-eyes pleasure parlor for some time now. Perhaps there will soon be beef with booze.
