Getting rid of what's dear and iconic:
The Glassell School of Art - 5101 Montrose Blvd Houston, TX 77006
Here we go awry again....
Even the MFAH has signed on to Houston's well-observed Credo: Destruction in the Name of Progress, ... Expansion. The Glassell School of Art Building is being gutted and the glass-brick walls are coming down. A few of the translucent blocks might get saved in the course of what the Museum euphemistically labels a "removal" operation, rather than a demolition. Why not call a spade a spade, -- and a wrecking crew a wrecking crew?
