Hogan Allnoch Dry Goods Building (1923) at 1319 Texas Ave on corner with Austin Street posted for sale (again) by Harris County

HOGAN-ALLNOCH DRY GOODS BUILDING

The County had previously put this property on the market without success, and had slated it for demolition. Since the Downtown real estate market has changed rather considerably in the last few years, with numerous residential, mixed-use, and hotel projects currently in various stages of construction, the outcome will likely be different this time. The historic property is being offered for sale by Sealed Bid Auction. Minimum bid: $2,443.000.

Whether the building, which has been vacant for years, will survive the sale of the property to a new owner remains an open question. The brick walls are load-bearing and have structural problems caused by subsidence in the ground underneath the building. This would require costly repairs.
